About Le Clou

Located on the first floor of The Morrow, Le Clou exudes a rich, luxe feel, taking cues from Michelin-star chef Nicholas Stefanelli’s modern take on the French brasserie. The open floor plan is a communal, singular dining room where both the kitchen and extensive wine collection are on display. The golden color palette is complemented with a layered mix of furniture and details inspired by classical forms and brasserie traditions all seen through a modern-design lens. The room references the iconic French aesthetic but is rooted in the modern vibrant character of its neighborhood of NoMa.

As Executive Chef, chef Stefanelli combines his unique style and inspired approach to all of The Morrow’s on-site dining and event offerings, as well as in-room dining. 

Vesper

Located on the 11th floor, Vesper is a moody and intimate lounge featuring live music, inspired cocktails, grand hors d’oeuvres, and caviar service. The space offers a private backdrop for intimate business meetings, afternoon tea, and champagne on Saturdays and Sundays.

Nicholas Stefanelli

Nicholas Stefanelli is the chef and owner of a renowned collection of Washington D.C. restaurants. His first is the personal statement of cooking displayed at Union Market’s Masseria, which earned a star in the city’s first-ever Michelin Guide, an honor it has received every year since. He then opened Officina, a multi-level tribute to Italy at the Wharf; a second location opened in downtown D.C.

With The Morrow, Stefanelli brings his years of culinary training in French technique to Le Clou, the ground-floor flagship of the hotel in NoMa’s burgeoning Third Street District, NE. Spearheading all food and beverage at The Morrow, Stefanelli will also guide the rooftop bar, Upstairs at the Morrow, and the lounge, Vesper.
